Each print is individually exposed and developed in sunlight, resulting in subtle variations unique to every piece.
This was commissioned as a gift for a friend leaving Kenya, by tea lovers wanting to capture the memory of a special friendship built over many shared cups of tea. It was fun finding a proverb to fit the theme, then illustrating it with Kenyan details: tea leaves, floral tea cups reminiscent of coastal henna, set on a tablecloth checkered like a shuka.
