This piece reflects my conviction that justice is a prerequisite for peace, and that the participation of women is essential to making peace sustainable. Inspired by East African Kanga cloth, I chose hennaed hands as a symbol of a pan-African, feminist peace—joyful, resilient, and beautiful.
