Cyanotype Studio Time: Saturday 12 September, 10:00am-12:30pm, Ẹlẹ́wà Studio

Cyanotype Studio Time is a relaxed session where new and returning students can experiment with cyanotype printing on fabric or paper. I'll be on hand throughout to guide you.

You are welcome to bring special leaves, feathers, lace, or other small objects from home, or explore the range of objects provided during the class. By arranging these materials on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to the sun, you will create striking blue-and-white prints to take home. All materials are included for use during the workshop.

I’ll need to prep your materials in advance, so choose your option when you book:

  1. Sunprint on A4 paper: You will explore printing with a range of plants and found objects on paper.
  2. Sunprint a lampshade: You will sunprint a piece of cotton fabric that will be turned into a lampshade and ready for collection approximately one week later.
  3. Sunprint a journal cover: You will sunprint a piece of cotton fabric that will be turned into a journal and read for collection approximately one week later.
  4. Sunprint a tote bag: You will prying on canvas fabric that will be turned into a tote bag and ready for collection approximately one week later.
  5. Photographic cyanotype printing: You will explore the process of printing cyanotypes from digital negatives of your own photographs.
