Cyanotype Studio Time: Saturday 12 September, 10:00am-12:30pm, Ẹlẹ́wà Studio
Cyanotype Studio Time is a relaxed session where new and returning students can experiment with cyanotype printing on fabric or paper. I'll be on hand throughout to guide you.
You are welcome to bring special leaves, feathers, lace, or other small objects from home, or explore the range of objects provided during the class. By arranging these materials on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to the sun, you will create striking blue-and-white prints to take home. All materials are included for use during the workshop.
I’ll need to prep your materials in advance, so choose your option when you book:

Design and Sunprint Your Own Kanga: Saturday 26 August, 9:00am-12:30pm, 5,000ksh, Ẹlẹ́wà Studio
During this class, you will explore the art of cyanotype alongside the rich history and visual language of East African kanga. You will design and draw your own kangas on glass, and then print in cyanotype on A3 watercolor paper and cotton.
Please think ahead about the proverb and patterns you want to include so you can hit the ground running.

This art form is fun, relaxing, and accessible for all skill levels. The class is open to adults and children aged 10 and above. Children aged 6 and above are welcome to if accompanied by an adult.
Note: The cyanotype process requires at least some sunshine. If the weather is not conducive, class may be rescheduled. Payments are due at the beginning of each class. As these are small, intimate sessions, spaces are limited—please register only if you plan to attend, and let us know if your plans change.
